Michael Chopra - Your View

Michael ChopraFollowing the Sunderland’s signing of Michael Chopra, we’d now like to hear your thoughts on the deal.

The Cardiff City striker has passed a medical and signed a four-year contract with Roy Keane’s side.

Are you unhappy that we’ve signed a former Newcastle player or are you pleased that we’ve signed a young forward with bags of potential? Maybe you’d have preferred David Nugent?

Whatever your view, whether you’re a Sunderland, Cardiff or Newcastle fan, share it with us below.

Very disappointed, already proved he wasn’t good enough for the Premiership once, should have persevered with the Nugent deal.

Wakey, wakey, football fans. The boy is class and is a future England striker. Forget “star of the moment” Nugent, Chopra is better!

This lad will be ok, he was good in the championship, remember this lad played along side an ageing alan shearer and shobo addebbobi, so to judge him on those performances would be harsh.

I have put together some names who have played in the fizzy pop league to be succesful in the premier, Robbie Keane, Craig Belamy, Tim Cahill, Darren Bent, Steve Finnan, Dean Ashton, Kevin Phillips, Nickey Shorey, Leighton Baines, Jermaine Jenas, Andy Cole, so next time a black and white moron knocks buying players from the lower leagues tell them to go and kiss their ugly missus.

Worth the money, hungry for success and good enough for the Premiership - will be a star for you and could be the difference between survival and relegation. He will score goals - You won’t be dissappointed ;-)

All of the above started in the lower leagues though, Chopra did’nt. He came from a premiership club where he couldn’t cut the mustard. Hope for Sunderland’s sake he is a success but £3.5m rising to £5m is just insane. As is £5.5m and £45k a week for Richardson. If they fail to stay up could they afford to keep either in the championship?

Mr Cadet it does not matter that these players started in the lower leagues, the point is they moved up and did the business, chopra has had a good season under his belt so he now starts with a clean slate, he did not get a chance at Newcastle, he will at sunderland and I believe he will succeed.
